Photo edit from free to edit image of an undecorated Christmas tree. Created with an iPad and pen. Various applications were used to apply ornaments, background and details. Creating this art brought me back to that childlike anticipation on the night before Christmas and I reflected on how blessed I was as a child to have gifts under the tree. My favorite gift was always that new box of crayons...the box of 64 with a new pad to draw on and a new coloring book. Those of us born in the 40's, 50's, and 60's may appreciate these toys under the tree. I remember my Dad always telling us about what it was like growing up during the depression at Christmas. He was one of 7 and he said they were happy and grateful to get an orange and a nickel in their stocking. He remembered my grandparents going without dinner to feed all of them and sometimes it was just a potato from the garden. Yet he always made it a point to say how happy they were. They were grateful for whatever they had. I'm grateful for the memories I have as a child and as a parent with my daughter. It is all about love and kindness! That is why my Dad always said it should be like Christmas everyday for everyone. Everyone should feel love and kindness everyday.
